The January release window WAS quiet for a time. We made it halfway thinking that it will be an easy month to pick our favourite IndieGames to feature in the monthly magazine (The DIG), but alas it was not meant to be.

Within the past few days, there have been a string of announcement for spectacular titles leaving Early Access and beautiful games to bless us with their presence.

Just to give you an idea, here are the IndieGames being released on January 28th (yup ALL on the same day)

You can play this right now. in Early Access. So get a head start, I dare you.

Those of you who love emergent storytelling, where there is no set narrative, you will love Curious Expedition 2. Every time you load up a game, it will play out differently. The explorers you pick, the places you visit, the people you meet and the friends you might have to eat to keep from starving... I didn't say it was an easy game, did i?

Conspiracy thrillers have been entertaining us for decades, and they never get old. We, as humans, are naturally curious. If something doesn't seem right we will go to the ends of the earth to uncover the truth (even if its just a deep google dive keeping us up till 4 in the morning, we've all been there). Disjunction is a tech-noir, where you play as three different characters, uncovering the cities secrets. Play it stealth or all-out action, the choice is yours, and so are the consequences.

What I love better than a good pixel art game is a cinematic pixel art game. Explore a mysterious world inspired by sailors legends and Asian fantasy. This handcrafted world is full of atmosphere, and the beautiful melancholic soundtrack pulls you into it all.

But don't get complacent, shadows move, and all is unforgiving. Navigate the dangers using a harpoon of legend, in an adventure full of fast-paced action.

Is it worth using the dark arts of necromancy and gaining more and more power to bring your loved one back?... Yes, yes it is, and don't let anyone else convince you otherwise.

Weild that mighty sword, raise your enemies as allies and push on! You can even recruit a friend to join you in co-op mode, as I am sure your undead allies won't be much for conversation.

But what dangers await those who seek its power?

The adorable TOHU. Every time I look at the art, I want to give it a big hug. It's gorgeous, enchanting and beautiful, and has a charm you can't help but smile at. When looking at the colours, an animated series called Hilda comes to mind. But the art style itself is truly unique. As if that wasn't enough, a musical composition by Christopher Larkin (Hollow Knight) will delight your ears throughout the experience.

Dive into the visual tapestry and feast your eyes soon!
